When an actor drops out
How to recast a role before the read.
Actors sometimes drop out. When it happens, the project chat posts a note and the role reopens.
Recast it yourself
- Open your project and go to Cast.
- Find the open role and click Find an actor.
- Pick from actors whose Matches include the role, or share the role link with someone you know.
Let auto-cast handle it
If auto-cast is on, we start offering the role again right away. You don't need to do anything.
Close to the read?
Inside 24 hours, mark the read Always open so a matching actor can drop in. You can also read the part yourself; writers do it all the time.
